It’s been an exciting 24 hours for Bestival with the announcement of both this year’s theme and 2014’s first headliner.
The first headliner sees the reformation of one of the most innovative, exciting hip-hop duos, OutKast visiting the island. Andre 3000 and Big Boi will be celebrating their 20th birthday in what will be one of just two UK festival appearances this year.
Chief Bestival booker, Rob Da Bank has said: “[…] I’m pretty darn excited to announce that OutKast are headlining Bestival this year! We’ve fought hard to get the recently reunited legendary hip-hop duo onto the ferry…”
Bestival 2014 is taking place between 4-7 September at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight and this year the festival features a brand new theme: Desert Island Disco.
Last year’s 10th anniversary saw festival fans climb aboard HMS Bestival; that ship has now run aground and landed upon the Island that’s revolutionising the palm tree with the mirror shine of the disco ball. Pack your grass skirts and book your ferry tickets now – the sooner you do, the cheaper they are.
As well as great music, Bestival offers the magical entrancement of the chance to see Films in the Forest; the great bearded wordsmith Scroobius Pip will be curating the Satin Lizard lounge where some of the best UK spoken word artists will be performing, or you can visit the Grand Palace of Entertainment where you’ll find comedy, cabaret and games amongst other oddities.
Bestival are yet to announce three more headliners alongside many other attractions and treats.
