A mere two weeks ago Download Festival announced 15 new acts, and now they’ve done it again.

This time, they’ve secured a European festival exclusive from metal giants and Grammy nominees Killswitch Engage. Fans were crossing their fingers for this announcement in their line up wish lists and now Donnington is the place where their metalcore dreams come true, with the band choosing Download out of a reported 600 European music festivals to play at.

Download 2014 is the place to be with not one, but three bands unleashing brand new album material at the festival. The Pretty Reckless will be releasing ‘Going to Hell’ in March and lead singer Taylor Momsen has said “We’re so excited to play Download again, it was one of the highlights of touring our last record and we can’t wait to bring Going to Hell to Donnington”.

Skindred released their latest album ‘Kill the Power’ just yesterday (27 January) and will be performing it live for the first time at Donnington; the first glimpse of Seether’s new album will also be on show for Download fans.

In the spirit of all things new are some Download debuts from Quicksand and classic metal supergroup Kill Devil Hill who will be joined by Pantera’s Vinny Paul and Rex Brown.

Another act sure to capture the attention of any crowd is the dark-fantasy transmedia act September Mourning. Other bands travelling across the pond for Download 2014 are American Head Charge, The Used, Joe Bonamassa and Crazytown.

Emmure and King 810 will also be visiting from America and Emmure’s Frankie Palmeri has said: “Once again we have been invited to be a part of one of the most prestigious music festivals of all time. We can’t wait to step on stage and connect with our fans at such an amazing event”.

As well as some fresh performances is the return of some of Download’s old friends in the form of deathcore Texans, Upon a Burning Body who were last seen in 2012. Anathema will also be returning with their “newest and most exciting material” having been working on their first studio album for the last three years in Norway.

Other bands included in the latest line up include Coldrain, Sabaton and New Politics alongside Dutch metalcore band The Charm, The Fury. Appearances from local superstars will also be made from Malevolence, Polar, Heart in Hand and Lyger.
