Open’er Festival have added renowned French rock band Phoenix to their line up.

Phoenix will be taking to the Open’er stage on the final day of the festival, which will be taking place in Gdynia-Kosakowo airport between 2-5 July 2014.

Phoenix reached global recognition following their 2009 Grammy Award-winning fourth album: Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, and earlier this year they released their fifth in the form of Bankrupt!

The album features a new sound to their previous ones, attributed to a mix of champagne, a nostalgia for France and inspiration from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (amongst others); subsequently resulting in an album with much deeper engagement and satisfaction.

Bankrupt! scored Phoenix headlining slots at Coachella and Lollapalooza but they’ve found time in 2014 to make their first ever trip to Poland for Open’er. Other acts announced for next year’s festival include The Black Keys who are set to headline on opening night, Pearl Jam, Pusha T and Bokka.

As well as the music, Open’er boasts its own giant ferris wheel, a silent disco, its own library and a signing tent where you can hunt down your favourite artists for their autographs.

The festival also has its own free app this year which includes the line up, your favourite and recommended artists, your own personal festival schedule and a check-in and find friends function. Search ‘Open’er Festival’ in the app store.

For the third year, Open’er has been nominated for European Festival Awards ‘Best Major Festival’ with the results to be announced on January 15. This also marks the deadline for Early bird tickets so head here to secure yours.
