Kendall Calling

Following 2013’s hugely successful Kendal Calling Goes To The Movies theme, the festival has revealed another star-based fancy dress theme as Kendal Calling Goes To Outer Space.

The award winning festival will descend once more upon the beautiful location of the Lake District, transforming it into a surreal alien world with festival goers changing from last year’s Superman costumes to their moon shoes.

The festival will feature a host of science-fiction characters, an array of space films on show and a record breaking attempt as attendees embrace their inner MJ to try and achieve the largest moonwalk.

The festival will take place between 1-3 August with the Saturday allocated as fancy dress day. A few of the costume suggestions include Neil Armstrong, Darth Vader, Spock or even a planet, with festival-goers encouraged to be as wacky and creative as they like.

For its stunning location and wide variety of the best music and performance art, Kendal Calling has quickly established itself as one of the most innovative festivals in the country.

Last year saw performances from Basement Jaxx, The Charlatans and Primal Scream. The festival was awarded the Best Medium Sized Festival award at the UK Festival Awards and despite a sell-out year in 2013, the festival has kept the same capacity this year in order to retain the festivals intimate feel and attention to detail.

The line up is due for announcement shortly and early bird tickets are currently still available for £115pp until 28 February. For tickets and all the latest announcements, click here.
