Bestival have announced a brand new Reggae Roots stage dedicated to ska, rock steady, ragga, dub, dancehall and jungle flavours.
The stage will be hosted by Bestival regulars Reggae Roast, Tayo and jim8track across the weekend with Toddla T, Dub Phizix, Prince Fatty and Ashley Beedle kicking things off on Thursday.
Friday’s selectors include Rebel MC, Congo Natty Ft. Congo Dubz & Tenor Fly, SL2 and Trojan Sound System. Plus there will be live sets from Uzimon, and Unit 137’s Ghost Writerz.
Running the rig on Saturday are Nice Up, Jus Now, Robbo Ranx, Rodney P, Mr Benn, Shepdog, Jstar and Eva Lazarus. Plus there will be performances from Wrongtom, Turntable Dubbers, Skylarkin, and Wreck It Up Crew.
On Sunday Jah Shaka’s cap a day that will see Mad Professor at the controls and live sets from Natty, Dreadsquad, Rebel Control, Isle of Wight locals The Ohmz, London based duo Subculture and Kaptin Is Dead.
The Reggae Roots stage joins more than 20 stages, soundsystems and non-stop parties across 10 fields. Outkast, Foals and Chic & Nile Rodgers will headline the festival which takes place at Robin Hill Park, Isle of Wight from Thursday 4th to Sunday 7th September 2014.
