Download Festival 2014

“Want more bands? How about 12…” Download Festivals tweet revealed that Europe’s biggest rock festival is shaping up to be one of it’s best.

Following the announcement of rock legends Aerosmith as their closing act, Download have released some more huge acts for 2014, including the return of pop Punk royalty The Offspring after a six year long absence.

Status Quo, who this year reached the prestigious achievement of releasing their 100th single, will also be gracing Download’s stage next year with a purely greatest hits set. Frontman Francis Rossi said: “it will have been 32 years since we headlined the Monsters of Rock Festival on August 21st 1982… You might say a lot has changed since then but we are still rocking, and still playing the Quo hits”.

Metal titans Trivium have also been added to the line up and are set to take over the intimate setting of the Red Bull stage with a special performance. Bassist Paolo Gregoletto revealed the bands plans: “In honour of both the festival and fans that embraced Trivium first, we have decided to play our 2005 set list from start to finish, preceded by a set of some our other festival favourite tunes…Do not miss it!”

Swedish metallers In Flames have also been announced to play the sacred Donnington stage alongside firm fan favourite, Steel Panther. Returning for the fourth time, drummer Stix Zadinia has said how excited the band are to come back: “This was the place where we were truly introduced to the UK and it always feels like a homecoming to us.”

Earlier this month, Download confirmed their three headliners as AerosmithAvenged Sevenfold and Linkin Park and the rest of the line up is yet to disappoint with the likes of The Black Dahlia Murder; While She Sleeps; Blessthefall; Crossfaith; Letlive; Miss May I and Dying Fetus all set to play.

Tickets are currently available for a limited time at 2013 prices starting at £160 + booking fee here.
