About Larmer Tree
The Larmer Tree festival is held annually in the high summer month of July at the Larmer Tree Gardens in South West England. It is a small family-friendly event that runs over five days, taking in all kinds of eclectic arts performances and music in a format that has managed to stay true to the original roots of the event that were set down in 1991. A real green-field party that plays host to some 10,000 attendees, the festival has been nominated for a number of awards in the cooler categories at the UK Festival Awards over the years, winning the Family Festival award in 2008.
Expect to find a fully eclectic line-up at the Larmer Tree festival with over eighty bands playing across seven stages. This creates an excellent musical miasma that encompasses everything from a main stage for the bigger acts through to more niche areas like an Old School Dance club venue, garden stages and even a wooden singing theatre. Get drawn into a mix of styles and entertainment, which gives the party an inclusive, almost curious vibe, where people are drawn into a mind-set of self-expression and openness.
Alongside your musical entertainment you can find everything from Indian styled head massages through to a cultured and clever take on UK cinema. The Larmer Tree festival is also studded with lots of small and exciting locations including the Lostwood, the Lost Lounge and the Water Garden, all of which come packed with visuals treats and space to chill out. There is an extensive children’s area, full of stories, games and other activities for little feet, alongside camping and all the other facilities you could want in this small but sufficient party.
