About Blissfields
Set in a secluded glade in the Hampshire countryside, Blissfields is one of the smaller, more family friendly events that grace the UK’s summer festival calendar. Crafted round sunshine, meadows and the suggestion of a delicate breeze, this is a party that takes place in early July that has to date never experienced a single rainy day. If you’re hooked on the promise of smiles, old school camaraderie, the memory of long lost fetes and garden parties in an England that perhaps never was, then this could be the magical outing you’re looking for.
Lacking the budget and the pulling power of the larger festivals does not seem to be an obstacle for the bookers at Blissfields, who are quickly gaining a reputation for creating a splendid blend of long standing crowd favourites spliced with new with-it acts of the moment. With different sonic areas ranging from the Acoustic Stage through to the Hidden Hedge, coupled up with the de rigeur Main Stage madness, there’s a chance for you to find the ideal sound to suit your level of energy and involvement at any time of the day.
Blissfields - don’t think downsized – think more exclusive and niche, with a site that can be traversed in a matter of minutes as opposed to hauling yourself through crowds of people over the course of an hour. Expect novelties as candy floss, film clubs, and DJs playing from the top of double decker busses, all wrapped up with the right levels of serious and silly in a package that’s impressed the critics enough to win this event the Best Small Festival prize at the UK festival awards. If you want to go, then our only advice to you is to make sure you book early.
