Summertyne Americana Festival<\/strong> takes place from the 18th<\/sup> to the 20th<\/sup> of July, and is Gateshead\u2019s foremost country, blues and rock \u2018n\u2019 roll Americana festival. It will be situated on the River Tyne at The Sage, and will feature a variety of Americana legends.<\/p>\n The festival will be headlined in the main hall by Steven Seagal Blues Band<\/strong> and Earl Thomas<\/strong> on the Friday, The Jayhawks <\/strong>and Marc Ford<\/strong> on the Saturday and\u00a0 Booker T. Jones<\/strong> and Bettye\u00a0 Lavette<\/strong> on the Sunday, with other headliners including Chuck Prophet<\/strong>, SummerTyne Strings Orchestra<\/strong> and John Fullbright<\/strong>. Also featuring will be up and coming Americana artists including Gordie Mackeeman & his Rhythm Boys<\/strong>, The Magnolia Sisters<\/strong> and Danny and the Champions of the world<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Ticket sales have already begun, with early supporters being able to purchase an early bird festival pass and receive savings of up to \u00a315, but those who don\u2019t manage to snag a ticket will still be able to enjoy the show, as the popular free outdoor stage makes a return, meaning watchers can sit back on the south bank of the river and enjoy free performances.<\/p>\n Positions are still available for the Summertyne Americana Festival Choir, lead by Sharon Durant with special guest singer Yolanda Quartley, formeraly of Massive Attack. Positions can be booked here (http:\/\/www.sagegateshead.com\/event\/saf-choir\/<\/a>) with rehearsals beginning on June\u00a0 12th<\/sup> and ending on July 17th<\/sup>. The final performance day is to be confirmed.<\/p>\n There will also be other sponsored events, including talk and exhibitions, a free showcase event backed by the AMA UK organisation , family activities, delicious street food, vintage car shows as well as a variety of other exciting events.<\/p>\n
