Latitude has made their first line up announcement of the year, revealing a number of top names set to emblazon their 2016 line up. The Maccabees, The National and New Order are the three acts that are scheduled to headline the main Obelisk Arena over the weekend.
Alongside these three big guns, notable names including Courtney Barnett, Father John Misty, Chvrches, John Grant, Zach Condon’s Beirut, British Sea Power, Alif, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, Daughter and 70s idols Squeeze are set to add their sparkle to the Obelisk Arena.
Meanwhile a number of top acts are on the cards for the BBC Radio 6 Music stage such as Grimes, Of Monsters and Men and Frightened Rabbit. Joining them will be Miike Snow, Kurt Vile and the Violators, Half Moon Run, MØ, Christine and the Queens, Poliça, Roots Manuva, Perfume Genius, Oh Wonder, Rat Boy and Jamie Woon.
At the Sunshine Arena, tucked away in the woods, vibrant Electronica will proliferate with Pantha Du Prince, Black Mountain, Blanck Mass, Bob Moses, Hayden James, Highasakite and Marlon Williams featuring on the bill.
As ever, Latitude has chosen a theme for the festival, and in 2016 there will be an exploration of the phrase “Love Thy Neighbour”. The plan is to cast an eye over the intercultural relationships that have dominated the headlines over the past twelve months from the Europe-wide migrant crisis and refugee camps in Calais to the protests against gentrification in parts of London.
Latitude Festival takes place on Thursday 14th to Sunday 17th July in the stunning surrounds of Henham Park, Suffolk.
