Aerosmith

Download have announced their third and final headliner as the legendary rock band: Aerosmith.

Following last year’s impeccable line up which featured acts such as Slipknot, Rammstein, Iron Maiden, Bullet For My Valentine and Enter Shikari, Download set themselves up for a challenge this year. But they’ve managed to excel themselves once more with three solid headliners secured in Linkin Park, Avenged Sevenfold and Aerosmith.

Formed in 1970, Aerosmith have become the best-selling rock band in history, with records selling in excess of 150 million. Despite forming over 40 years ago, Aerosmith have produced some incredible hits which still appeal to crowds today including classics such as ‘Dude (Looks Like a Lady)’, ‘Walk This Way’, ‘Don’t Want to Miss a Thing’ and ‘Love In An Elevator’.

2014’s appearance will be their first UK performance since 2010 when they last headlined at Donnington Park. Guitarist Joe Perry has said: “It’s been too long since we’ve been to England and we’re sincerely f*****g charged to be coming back! See you there.”

Download 2014 will take place at Derby’s Donnington Park between 13-15 June and Aerosmith will be closing the event as the final headliner on the Sunday night. Sunday nights main support  will be hard rockers, Alter Bridge, who this year reached No 1 in the rock charts with their album ‘Fortress’ and a sell-out arena UK tour.

Saturday’s headliners, Linkin Park, will be performing their 2000 album ‘Hybrid Theory’ in full. Also set for Saturday’s stage are Fall Out Boy. Friday’s headliners, Avenged Sevenfold will be joined by Rob Zombie.

More bands are set to be announced soon, but it’s looking like a big one.
