About V Festival
The V Festival in Chelmsford is one of a pair of festivals that take place in the UK on a late August weekend in the British summer. The V stands for Virgin Media – the massive media communications company that sponsors the event. In previous years this festival has been televised on Channel 4 and its spin-off channel, 4Music - however in 2014 it returned to MTV, where you can get a taste of the cool vibe and eclectic sound of this excellent event.
The Chelmsford event takes place in Hylands Park, a venue owned and operated by the local council. This has been the festival’s home since its creation way back in 1996. You’re looking at a traditionally green space that offers party-heads the whole outdoor, natural UK style festival experience without having to travel out to the back of beyond.
The line up at the V Festival Chelmsford mirrors that of the one for the V Festival Staffordshire. Although this party has a history of Rock heavy listings, you can now expect some of the best mainstream artists and bands of the moment lining up against the cream of the Dance music crop, giving you a very broad cross-section of the contemporary musical spectrum that offers a little bit of something for everyone.
