Liverpool Sound City takes place in early May unsurprisingly in the North-West city of Liverpool. Combining both conference and performance aspects of the business, this three day event attracts all kinds of industry professionals and music lovers. It is spread across many venues in a city that’s already renowned for its friendly and upbeat nature, creating a wonderful and inclusive cosmopolitan vibe.
The audio selection is truly diverse at Liverpool Sound City. You’ve got a little bit of everything with a good cut section of the scene included well known and loved classic acts from all genres and up and coming names from various scenes. Those looking to explore the audio landscape of the festival can find plenty going on in the smaller venues that are geared around showcasing new acts.
Alongside the diverse musical spread that’s on offer at Liverpool Sound City you can also get involved with a number of different media events. There are often visual exhibitions that go hand in hand with the sounds, including poster galleries of famous gig posters and screenings of independent films at the Screenadelica showings. To top it all off there’s the John Peel World cup, a five a side tournament that’s just on the right side of serious.
