About Eastern Electrics
Some say that many aspects of the modern festival scene are rooted in the UK rave movement of the 1980s. Eastern Electrics is one event that’s grown out of a famous underground rave, officially becoming a fully fledged festival in the summer of 2007. It has had a number of homes over the years including the famous Knebworth site that’s played host to bands like Pink Floyd, before deciding on a more permanent venue - Hatfield House, Hertfordshire - in 2014.
The Eastern Electrics festival is an event that embraces the cooler side of Dance. If you’re thinking of big name London club DJs, then you’re probably barking up the wrong tree as this party is much more focussed on the big European giants of the scene and the American pioneers of the sound. This gives the whole affair an eclectic, tuned in vibe where people have come for the experience, not just the shenanigans.
This isn’t a camping and overnight event however – it’s one big day of fun - then if you want to party on into the night, you’ll have to buy a ticket for an after-party that usually takes place in Central London, taking Eastern Electrics on a journey back to its beginnings. This is definitely one for the fast and furious crowd out there who know what’s what when it comes to beats, breaks and bounce.
