About Chagstock
Chagstock takes place just outside Chagford on the edge of Dartmoor. The name pays a little homage to the king of all American events, although this is one festival that has grown organically since its conception in 2003. Originally the brainchild of a group of friends who rigged up a few tents in a garden, this party has grown thanks to the good vibes and good feelings of friends into a sell out event with an attendance of 5,000.
This is one party that manages to do incredibly well with their line up – you’d be forgiven for thinking that they might not be able to attract the big names, but in recent years they’ve always pulled in musicians who are not only fitting for the event’s folk-feel, but also ones to watch with a good blend of acts across the board both old and new.
There’s plenty to do for all ages at Chagstock. In recent years Dartmoor Reptiles have turned up with a selection of spiders and snakes to wow the kids and for those looking for an authentic San Francisco hip experience you can climb aboard a magic bus and engage in all kinds of creative arts. Despite the growth this festival has experienced, it has managed to always retain its warm and friend people centric vibe.
