About Bonnaroo
The Bonnaroo Music and Arts festival is held annually in the second week of June. The first event took place in 2002 and it has been a roaring success every year since. It takes place over four days at the Great Stage Park in Manchester, Tennessee and encompasses all kinds of music styles. with a focus on the sounds of the Southern American states. The event is fairly prestigious. Rolling Stone magazine dubbed it one of the Fifty Moments that Changed Rock and Roll.
Even though you can find all kinds of World Music from Hip Hop to Gospel at the Bonnaroo festival, the emphasis tends to be on bands and acts as opposed to EDM based turntable antics. There are a number of main stages including the Centeroo hub that serves up the majority of the entertainment, leading to a number of sub-venues including the famous What and Which stages. Some of the biggest names in the industry have furnished this event marking it as a standout event in the US calendar.
Spotted throughout the site are a number of different activity tents that put on everything from graffiti master-classes through to more traditional festival fare such as silent discos and comedy sessions. A giant camping site known as tent city crops up to support the party where you can find a truly diverse set of fans all rubbing shoulders with the numerous craftsmen and artists selling unique and crazy creations. Everything about this event is geared towards expression, giving the whole party a wonderfully alive atmosphere.
